Sparkasse Bremen is the leading financial services provider in Bremen and one of the ten largest savings banks in Germany. It offers a wide range of financial and support services related to finance, insurance, and real estate. With a large part of its revenue, Sparkasse contributes to the quality of life in Bremen by financially supporting initiatives for social good and voluntary activities.

Since 2008, we have implemented numerous projects with Sparkasse Bremen – from large campaigns and the design of whole business areas to a branch that is unique in Germany.

Large reception counter – Am Brill branch

With the reception counter we have planned, designed, and implemented, the head office of Sparkasse Bremen has received a central meeting and communication point for its customers.

The counter is not only a real eye-catcher and presents Sparkasse Bremen as an open, friendly, and up-to-date financial services provider. The presence of the counter in the room, its curved shapes, and the modular design make it a visual, organizational, and communicative hub.

The colour concept follows the corporate colours of Sparkasse, the different areas create visual tension. The natural shade of wood adds a homelike aspect that contributes positively to the appearance of the company.

Oscillating circuits and image worlds in the self-service area

For Sparkasse Bremen, we have turned the rather sober, purely pragmatic self-service areas into friendly and welcoming rooms. With oscillating circuits and image worlds, artfully coloured walls lose their rigid character and become alive. The motifs of the wall design are summarized in a thematic and symbolic manner, a translation of the corporate values of Sparkasse Bremen.

An unexpected experience in this project: Already the application of the motifs by our partners from Doppelpack became a customer event. In the days (and especially nights) of the painting campaign, customers and random pedestrians gathered at the artistic construction site, looked, commented, and came into conversation with the artists of Doppelpack. A consistently positive mood, as Doppelpack’s Thomas Gerlach reported. He had a most memorable experience on a late evening in the self-service branch at Bremen central railway station: »It was so unnaturally silent, and when I turned around there was a whole travel group of Japanese people, shooting and filming as we painted. We kindly waved – they cheerfully waved back.« His conclusion: All in all, the craft process of installing a brand presence in the room offers a great opportunity for dialogue with the customers.

Design of the university branch

With its branch at the university’s boulevard, opened in 2011, Sparkasse Bremen focuses on students in particular. With regard to the target group, we have planned and implemented the branch with a modern and clear design.

On an area of around 90 square meters, the customers are offered an open consulting situation with a mobile communication desk, a transparent consulting room made of glass, and an inviting waiting area.

ImmobilienLounge FinanzCentrum am Brill

With the ImmobilienLounge im FinanzCentrum Am Brill (Real Estate Lounge in the financial centre Am Brill), we have designed and implemented a room concept customised to the consulting services offered.

Architectural perspectives were the inspiration for the design idea; the dynamic forms convey the theme of real estate in Bremen in an associative way. Together with the choice of high-quality materials, the result was an inviting spatial impression and a pleasant consulting situation. The latest information and offers are presented by media technology embedded in the room architecture that can be updated via an in-house CMS system. In addition, it can be used for exclusive presentations and events.

A further opportunity for us to use the competence areas of room architecture and communication/design in a collaborative manner.
